Election to some 60 local councils were postponed as a result of writ applications against rejections.

Alliance party representatives in the Gampaha met at the Presidential secretariat on the 15th and 17th of January to finalize the lists for Local Election 2011. Ms Shalini Senanayke participated from the LPSL.
LPSL will organize a lecture at OPA hall in Colombo to commemorate the 24th anniversary of LPSL. Party was formed on the 19th of January 2011.
